I hope Linda is feeling better. And George, I hope you are doing well. Please do lay low so you both can mend to your fullest. Here in Boston it has become "the winter that has no end." It snowed again last night -- I'd say 3 inches-plus in Pigeon Cove. And it's darn cold outside -- 29 degrees. They say an ice storm is on the way tonight. Oh Joy! Diana and I are well into our third cord of wood.
Take care. Love, Andrew

Linda had her knee surgery yesterday (Wednesday) about 4:30 PM. The kind where they make 3 small incisions and work with instruments (authroscopic, I think is how they spell it) for a miniscus tear. She was in recovery by 6 PM and we got home after West Wing, about 10. Diana Gourguechon drove us home. Linda hasn't been able to keep any food down today, however, and cwasn't allowed to eat all day yesterday. She is pretty weak but pleased about her new diet. Her leg hurts but they gave her some strong pain killer medicine which does its job. The recovery seems to be taking longer than last time. Nevertheless, it's coming okay and she should be up and around Friday or Saturday at the latest. No deep knee bends for awhile, though.

This is the first note on this blog. We are anxious to see if this works as a way of keeping in touch and keeping up-to-date on what everyone is doing. News from here is that Linda's arthroscopic knee surgery on her right knee is scheduled for Wednesday. It is outpatient, so we'll be home Wednesday night. We are going to a shushi party downtown tonight (Sunday) at Nick Gourscheon's and Darcy's. You may have met them at Linda's birthday party in November. Nick is the one that made the banner with Linda's picture. It's an interesting way to have a party if you don't have any money. Everyone pays $30 for their share of the food. Nick and a bunch of roomates used to have parties like this and charge a $5 cover charge to get money to pay their rent, but I think this one just covers costs.
Please add news to this anytime. We'll see if it works.
